In situations of one-lung ventilation where other tools are insufficient, the endobronchial blocker from Tappa Medical goes further. A rigid endobronchial blocker that you insert through a single lumen endotracheal tube. The unique angled distal end with "high volume low pressure" cuff allows the blocker to be positioned well in one of the main bronchi.
For lung procedures in pediatric and smaller patients, there is the 5 Fr blocker. This can be used in combination with a tube size 4.5 to 5.5. For lung procedures in (larger) adults, there are the 7 and 9 Fr blockers, applicable to endotracheal tubes size 6.0 and larger. For adults, the blocker is equipped with a unique auto-inflation mechanism. To inflate the cuff, simply open the valve for auto-inflation, once you have filled the mechanism with air beforehand.
A practical Y-piece is included with ports for ventilation and bronchoscopy. The Y-piece is equipped with solid closures and fixation points.
The Tappa blocker is very solid and easy to manipulate due to the rigidity of the catheter. The blocker also has an extra lumen for administering oxygen to the lung to be operated on.
