But what exactly is leakage radiation, and how can you measure it? <\/p>\n\n<p>Radiation emitted by the machine outside the primary beam is called <strong>leakage radiation<\/strong>. All X-ray tubes are subject to this form of radiation to a greater or lesser extent. These measurements are carried out in places where staff often stand, and at multiple locations around the housing of the device. The manufacturer often indicates the <strong>acceptance values<\/strong> for that specific device. This applies to X-ray equipment in hospitals, but also to devices in public areas (such as baggage scanners at airports) or applications in industry.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These measurements can be carried out easily and accurately with the <strong>RaySafe 452<\/strong>. All measurements are automatically stored in the device. Based on this, you can calculate the radiation dose for a single exposure.
