Check the light field with the DXR+

Aligning the light field with the radiation beam

Quickly and easily check the alignment of the light field with the DXR+ – without a phantom, fewer exposures, and directly visible results.

Aligning the light field with the radiation beam is a standard part of the periodic inspection of radiography and mammography systems. This prevents unnecessary exposure or deviating images. Often, a square phantom is placed to check the light field in relation to the radiation beam. This takes time and sometimes requires multiple exposures.

The DXR+ is a pocket-sized measuring device that allows you to perform this check quickly and without a phantom. How does it work?

Use in 3 steps: position, expose, read

1. Position
Position the DXR+ with the yellow stripe on the edge of the light field, as shown in the image below.

2. Exposure
After positioning, make an exposure.

3. Read
Reading can be done both on the DXR+ and on the X-ray itself. The DXR+ is automatically activated as soon as it detects radiation. The light-sensitive diodes on the ruler light up, allowing you to directly read where the radiation beam reaches. The display disappears after 60 seconds. The metric scale of the DXR+ is also visible on the X-ray. This allows you to read the alignment as well.

The advantage

A quick and effective way to check the alignment of the light field with the radiation beam:

  • less time required;
  • fewer exposures required;
  • reproducible measurement;
  • battery lasts 6 to 8 years.
